Busy Is Not the Same as Productive
We wear “ busy ” like a badge of honor. “I’ve been so busy.” “Today was crazy.” “Back-to-back meetings.” Somehow, being busy feels like proof that we matter. Last week, I had one of those “productive-looking” days. Back-to-back meetings. Constant notifications. Emails answered within minutes. Notes filled. Calendar blocked. By 8 PM, I was exhausted. And yet, when I paused and asked myself what actually moved forward that day… I couldn’t point to a single meaningful outcome. That’s when it hit me. I wasn’t productive. I was busy.
